La mesure prise par la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de gestion des d\u00e9chets et de la salubrit\u00e9 du Grand Nokou\u00e9 (SGDS-GN) vise \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer le service d'assainissement dans cette agglom\u00e9ration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au B\u00e9nin, les habitants des communes de Cotonou, S\u00e8m\u00e8-Podji, Porto-Novo, Ouidah et Abomey-Calavi paieront d\u00e9sormais une redevance pour la collecte de leurs ordures m\u00e9nag\u00e8res \u00e0 partir de janvier 2023, une op\u00e9ration jusqu'ici gratuite. L'annonce a \u00e9t\u00e9 faite par la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de gestion des d\u00e9chets et de la salubrit\u00e9 urbaine du Grand Nokou\u00e9 (SGDS-GN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u00ab Il est pr\u00e9vu que les m\u00e9nages paient une cotisation. Au d\u00e9part, nous voulions que cette contribution soit ajout\u00e9e aux factures d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 et d'eau, mais les autorit\u00e9s au plus haut niveau ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de ne pas retenir cette option.\u00a0<\/em>explique le directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du SGDS-GN. Selon Val\u00e9rie Lawson, cela va renforcer l'efficacit\u00e9 de cette entreprise de service public cr\u00e9\u00e9e en 2018, qui g\u00e8re annuellement 450 000 tonnes de d\u00e9chets m\u00e9nagers, dont 46 % de mati\u00e8res organiques, 5,5 % recyclables et 35 % de sables fins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour m\u00e9moire, la fin du service gratuit de collecte des d\u00e9chets \u00e9tait initialement pr\u00e9vue en avril 2022, dans le cadre du programme d'action du gouvernement b\u00e9ninois (PAG).
